MSU board holds quarterly meeting

The Morehead State University Board of Regents held its quarterly meeting on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 9 a.m. in room 329 of the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC). 

During the meeting, Rowan County Judge-Executive Harry Clark swore in two new regents. Dr. Annie Adams is a professor of English and will serve as faculty regent. Colby Birkes is the president of the Student Government Association and will serve as student regent.

The Board of Regents elected Wayne Martin to serve as vice chair and Jacqueline Graves as secretary. They appointed Teresa Lindgren as treasurer.

President Jay Morgan and the board recognized Dr. Sherif Rashad, professor of computer science; Jen Timmermann, director of transition services; and Noah Damron of Pikeville, president of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, for their outstanding leadership, service and dedication to the University.

The regents approved the 2019-20 faculty handbook and revisions to the student code of conduct. They also heard updates on the Kentucky Employee Retirement System pension plan as well as a report on the University’s strategic plan goals for the 2019-20 school year.
