Browning Orchard Festival held Sept. 29

Morehead State University faculty, staff, students and members of the surrounding communities welcomed the beginning of the fall season at the annual Browning Orchard Festival, which was held Sunday, Sept. 29, at the orchard in Wallingford.

The event featured live music courtesy of MSU’s Kentucky Center for Traditional Music, hayrides, apple picking, games and more. Items produced at the University Farm by agricultural sciences students, including apples, cider and apple butter, were sold at the festival.

The Browning Orchard was donated to MSU by the Browning Family in 2008 as a way for students in MSU’s agricultural sciences programs to gain hands-on learning in commercial fruit production, horticulture and agribusiness.
