Morehead State celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Morehead State supports diversity in people and ideas and welcomes students to our diverse and inclusive One Eagle Family. MSU’s Eagle Diversity Education Center (EDEC) is organizing a series of events for Hispanic Heritage Month, which takes place through Oct. 15.

The Campus Activities Board (CAB) and EDEC are sponsoring a game of Lotería, a traditional and popular Mexican game combining cards and bingo, at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at The Prefontaine. The following week, EDEC, the Spanish Club and the Latino Student Union will sponsor the Second Annual Hispanic Heritage Fiesta at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in Ballrooms A and B of the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC). There will be food, music, dancing and a spotlight on Hispanic culture.

The month of activities will close with CommUNITY Conversation: Being an Ally for the Hispanic Community. This discussion, presented by the Eagle Diversity and Inclusion Team, will take place at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, in room 325 of ADUC.
