Double Reed Day to be held Nov. 9
Morehead State’s Department of Music, Theater and Dance will hold Double Reed Day on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Baird Music Hall.
The event is free and open to all beginner, intermediate and advanced double reed players. Activities planned for the day include:
Double Reed Day is held in conjunction with MSU’s Flute Day, featuring Dr. Ellen Mosley, assistant professor of music, and guest artist Nicole Riner.
Double Reed Day is sponsored by Hurst Music; the MSU Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance; the MSU Double Reed Club; Boyd County Band Boosters; Pikeville High School Bands, and Mason County Bands.

- Oboe/Bassoon Fundamental Clinics (Topics include: hand position/posture, breathing, embouchure, articulation and more).
- Oboe/Bassoon KMEA All-State Audition Workshop.
- Double Reed Choir.
- Instrument repair session (repair specialist on site for minor repairs and adjustments).
