Holiday Carnival scheduled for Dec. 3

Morehead State University will host the Third Annual Holiday Carnival from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC). The event is free and open to the public.

The Holiday Carnival will once again feature popular activities like pictures with Santa during the University Store Open House (featuring special holiday discounts on merchandise). The Prefontaine campus dining facility will be transformed into the Snowflake Café serving holiday snacks and hot cocoa, and MSU student organizations will host children’s activities including creating holiday crafts, ornaments and decorating cookies.

The carnival will also feature holiday music from the Rodburn Elementary and Clearfield Elementary School Choirs from Rowan County, as well as MSU’s Black Gospel Ensemble. Highlights will also include the reading of “The Night Before Christmas” by MSU First Lady Amber Morgan, followed by the Campus Holiday Lights Ceremony.

“For us, I think it is really the official beginning of the holiday season for us in the Morehead community,” said Shannon Colvin, associate director for the Office of Student Activities. “Just to celebrate that time of year where everyone is in the holiday spirit and a little bit kinder to their fellow man.”
