Pozgay elected to ATMAE board of directors

Morehead State University alumnus Walt Pozgay was recently elected by the membership of the Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) to represent industry on its board of directors.  

ATMAE is a national organization with more than 1,000 professional members. The organization accredits associate, baccalaureate and master's degree programs in engineering technology, technology management and applied engineering-related programs. The ATMAE board's purpose is to represent universities, community colleges, business and industry, National Industry Advisory Committee (NIAC) and ATMAE students.    

Pozgay has served as chair of the MSU School of Engineering and Computer Science Advisory Board and received his bachelor's degree in technology management from MSU in 2014.   

He has enjoyed a broad range of opportunities to learn and expand his understanding of technology and to apply his knowledge to positions of ever-growing impact and responsibility across multiple industries. As an electronics technician, he repaired and maintained U.S. Army intelligence-gathering equipment, as well as industrial manufacturing and processing equipment. As an instructor, he taught electronics in military and civilian classrooms. He continues to provide training in electronics, process improvement, and quality principles in company and association training environments. His current role is senior manager over 24 technicians in six labs, testing cooking products, commercial and retail air conditioners, and residential water heaters for GE Appliances, a Haier company.  

Pozgay is involved in several professional organizations. He is a member of the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE), from which he holds a Certified Technology Manager (CTM) certification. He is also a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), he is a Certified Six-Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB). He also serves as a certification administrator for the Electronics Technicians Association, International (ETA-I).
