MSU’s sport management program garners national ranking
Morehead State University’s Master of Arts in Sport Management program has been ranked by Intelligent.com as one of the Best Master’s in Sports Management Programs for 2020.

“We are pleased that these efforts have been recognized in the Intelligent.com rankings of Best Online Master’s in Sports Management Degree Programs,” said Dr. Johnathan Nelson, associate professor of management and associate dean of the School of Business Administration at MSU. “We are proud to deliver an online program that provides students with the breadth of background that they need to work in a wide range of areas in the sport management industry.”
Intelligent.com is a resource for online degree rankings and higher education planning. The website offers curated guides, including the best degree programs and information about financial aid, internships and study strategies.
The 2020 rankings were calculated through a scoring system that factors in student engagement, the potential return on investment and leading third-party evaluation. Of the 137 schools that were analyzed with sport management programs, Morehead State was one of 49 higher education institutions whose program made the list, ranking 10th and noted as having the best scholarships.
“We have worked hard to deliver a Sport Management MA Program that is flexible, affordable and provides our students with the knowledge and experience that they need to be successful upon graduation,” Nelson said.
The Master of Arts in Sport Management is designed to provide students with opportunities to develop and demonstrate the expertise and research skills that are necessary to enable them to make independent professional contributions in sports management. Graduates from this program pursue management careers in amateur, collegiate and professional sports teams, facilities and events management, and sports management and merchandise.
