Alumnus earns award from AANP

Wendy Fletcher, DNP, APRN, has been awarded the Kentucky Advocate State Award for Excellence by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She is an MSU alumnus and director of clinical practice of advanced practice and family medicine provider at St. Claire Family Medicine.

The Advocate State Award for Excellence is given to an individual in each state who has made a significant contribution toward increasing awareness and recognition of nurse practitioners (NPs). Examples of past recipients have been physicians, legislators and educators. NPs are also eligible for the advocate award for non-clinical practice initiatives related to leadership, precepting, policy, politics, research, education or community affairs.  

She graduated from MSU’s nursing program in 1994 and is a member of the MSU Alumni Association Board.  

Fletcher is a member of the Kentucky Association of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse-Midwives (KANPNM) and was inducted into the Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) at its annual conference held June 18-21, 2019 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
