MSU announces call for nominations for Distinguished Service Awards
The Morehead State University Service Committee requests nominations for the 2019-20 Distinguished Service Awards.
Full-time MSU faculty and staff members can be nominated and nominations can be made by any member inside or outside the University community. Service may include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Service as an official representative of the University beyond job responsibilities.
- Sponsorship or advisor of University-approved extracurricular activities and/or official MSU student organization.
- Participation in department, college, and University ad hoc and standing committees.
- Coordination of and/or participation in workshops, conferences, clinics, in-service and special events.
- Development of proposals (organization initiatives, curriculum development or projects).
- Development of relations/partnerships with external groups that enhance MSU (business, civic, education and government).
- Service rendered as a citizen, not as a representative of the University (e.g., Little League Coach, American Cancer Society volunteer, captain of American Heart Association Walk-A-Thon team, etc.).
Recipients of the Distinguished Faculty Service Award and the Distinguished Staff Service Award will each receive a $2,500 award. The presentation of the awards will be part of Fall Convocation.
Nominations must be submitted by 4 p.m. Friday, March 27. Submissions should include the name and address of the nominee, along with a brief one-page letter explaining how the nominee meets the criteria. Nominations should be submitted to:
