MSU welcomes future Eagles for February Open House
Morehead State University provides opportunities for students in the region, state and beyond through excellent academic programs and a commitment to student success. It is why MSU has been named one of “America’s Best Colleges” by U.S. News and World Report for the past 16 years and rose in the publication’s rankings to become a Top 20 higher education institution for 2019-20.
Future Eagles will have a chance to experience MSU at Open House next month. MSU’s Office of Enrollment Services will host an Open House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, on the Morehead campus.
Registration will take place at 10 a.m. at Button Auditorium, followed by a welcome session at 10:15 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., campus tours will depart from Button Auditorium and conclude with an Academic Showcase at 11:45 a.m. in the third-floor ballroom of the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC).
From there, prospective students will depart ADUC for an Academic Breakout, where faculty and staff will meet with students interested in specific programs. MSU is also home to one of only a handful of space systems engineering programs in the country and produces graduates accepted into professional schools – including medical, dental and pharmacy programs – at rates well above state and national averages.
At Open House, University representatives will be available to meet students and their families, answer questions, take campus tours and share information about college life and joining our One Eagle Family.
“Families will hear success stories about our graduates and statistics that demonstrate the academic quality and personal attention offered at MSU,” said Holly Pollock, director of undergraduate admissions. “Our goal is to make it convenient to get answers to questions about starting college by bringing deans, department chairs and faculty from our academic programs – as well as staff from admissions, financial aid, housing and many more services – together in one place.”
After Open House concludes, tickets will be provided free of charge to prospective students and their families to that day’s Eagle Basketball games. MSU Women’s Basketball will play the University of Tennessee at Martin at 1 p.m., followed by the MSU Men’s Basketball taking on UT Martin at 3 p.m. in the Academic-Athletic Center.
Application fees for high school seniors will be waived for those in attendance. Transcript and test scores must be turned in at the event to qualify for the fee waiver.
Students and families are encouraged to register for the Open House. To register online, visit www.moreheadstate.edu/openhouse.
