CHS named winner of Suit Bank Showdown

Suit Bank Showdown winnersMorehead State University’s Office of Career Services has announced the winner of its annual Suit Bank Showdown.   

Held throughout November, the event was a friendly competition where teams of faculty and staff compete to see who can contribute the most business professional clothing to the Suit Bank, which provides business apparel to students and alumni at no charge. Counseling and Health Services is the winner of the 2019 Suit Bank Showdown.   

Each type of garment donated was assigned a specific number of points. Counseling and Health Services accumulated the highest point total. Other participants included:   
  • Budgets and Financial Planning  
  • Camden-Carroll Library  
  • Craft Academy for Excellence in Science and Mathematics
  • Department of Communication, Media and Languages  
  • Department of English  
  • Elmer R. Smith College of Business and Technology
  • Global Studies  
  • Graduate School  
  • Internal Audits  
  • Student Support Services  
Attire from the Suit Bank is used for the upcoming career and internship fair as well as for interviews, networking events, internships, presentations and conferences.   

Director of Career Services Megan Boone was grateful for the donated items and knows they will go a long way to helping Eagles put their best foot forward in their career endeavors.   

“We want to ensure MSU students and alumni have access to free professional clothing and are able to look their best and make a positive impression as they enter the professional world,” she said.   

 Donations are welcome at any time and can be dropped off at the Office of Career Services, located on the ground floor of the Camden-Carroll Library. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Donations to the Suit Bank are tax-deductible.
