Poetry reading with alum Chris Prewitt set for March 5
Morehead State alum and award-winning poet Chris Prewitt (10) will read selections of his work March 5 at 6 p.m. at CoffeeTree Books, 159 E. Main St.
Prewitt earned his master’s degree in English at MSU in 2010. His book, “Paradise Hammer,” won the 2018 James Tate Poetry Prize. A recipient of the Virginia Tech/Poetry Society of Virginia Poetry Prize and the Richard Kennedy Thomas Wolfe Student Essay Award, Prewitt has also been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net.
Prewitt will also speak to student in Associate Professor of English Chris Holbrook’s poetry writing class March 5, at 2 p.m.
The event is part of the MSU Department of English Spring Reading series. The next author to be featured in the Spring Reading Series will be Michael Chitwood on Tuesday, March 31.
