Ronald E. and Sharon Beard Cooper Scholarship established
The Morehead State University Foundation has announced the establishment of the Ronald E. and Sharon Beard Cooper Scholarship Endowment, a fund to benefit MSU students.
The scholarship was created by Ron (73) and Sharon (74) Cooper. Ron, a native of Milford, Ohio, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a computer science option and Sharon, a Louisville native, earned a Bachelor of Science with a business education concentration. The couple met at MSU and married in 1973.
Ron worked in computer technology and telecommunications for Hoover Universal, Island Creek Coal Company, Ashland Oil, Sprint and the Commonwealth of Kentucky before retiring in 2015. He enjoys hunting and fishing and working on his hunting farm. Sharon was a business and computer teacher for over 40 years. While she officially retired in 2010, Sharon continues to teach computer and crochet/craft classes in Louisville.
"Morehead State University is our second home and we want help young people reach their goals at MSU,” said Ron and Sharon.
The recipient of the award must be a full-time, undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior, majoring in a program in MSU’s School of Business Administration and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Proposed recipients and alternates shall be selected by the College of Business Scholarship Committee.
This scholarship was created as part of the Soar to New Heights Scholarship Campaign.
