MSU Cancellations

MSU will remain open with limited staffing in each office to serve students, but will be closed to the general public and to any non-employee effective 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, until April 3, 2020. Many events scheduled on our campus or regional campuses are being canceled or postponed. 

This list will be updated as decisions are made. Please refer to www.moreheadstate.edu/coronavirus for the latest updates and information. Cancellations will also be posted there. 

A reminder to students that instruction will be provided online from March 23 through the end of the spring semester. 
  • The Camden-Carroll Library is closed to the public; faculty or staff who need access should call ahead, 606-783-2200.
  • MSU's Recreation and Wellness Center is closed to the public until further notice. Visit www.moreheadstate.edu/recreation for updates.
  • MSU Dining Services: For the week of March 23-27, campus food service will be limited. All ADUC venues will be closed. The ‘Rock’ will be open the following times for takeout: Monday, March 23, through Thursday, March 26, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Friday, March 27, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • The ‘POD’ will be open the following times for takeout: Monday, March 23, through Thursday, March 26, 3 to 10 p.m.; and closed on Friday, March 27.
  • Graduate School online open house, April 2, canceled.
  • ​The Kentucky Folk Art Center will be closed through April 3.
  • Morehead State Public Radio is closed to the public but will continue to broadcast at 90.3FM and wmky.org.
  • ETS has extended the closure for PRAXIS testing in Kentucky through May 15. If you were scheduled to test at MSU on May 6, May 7, May 11 or May 12, you will be able to reschedule at no additional cost.
  • Praxis tests scheduled at MSU Testing Center on May 19, 22, 27, June 1 and June 4 have been cancelled. Also, the Testing Center will be closed through June 5 to all testing.
  • Star Theater public planetarium shows are canceled until further notice.
  • All MSU Athletics events are suspended until April 3. 
  • The University Post Office will be open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. until Friday, March 27.
  • Eagle Arts Academy classes are postponed until classes resume on campus.
  • MSU Board of Regents meeting, March 26, postponed.
  • “A Trans Female/Feminine Perspective on Sexism,” lecture with Julia Serano, March 26, postponed. 
  • Trombone Day, March 28, canceled. 
  • Reading and ceremony: Thomas and Lillie D Chaffin award recipient Michael Chitwood, March 31, postponed until Fall 2020.  
  • Military Initiatives Vietnam Veteran Appreciation event, March 31, canceled.
  • Sig Ep 50th Reunion: April 2-4, postponed.
  • Nursing Showcase, April 3, canceled.
  • Build-a-Bed: Build project rescheduled for June 13.
  • Keeneland MSU Alumni Event: April 5, canceled.
  • Emerge Dance Concert, April 9-11, canceled.
  • Student Advisory Board Meeting to the Department of Nursing, April 10, canceled.
  • Application deadline for the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program is extended until April 15.
  • Delta Gamma 50th Reunion: April 17-18, postponed.
  • Ballard Cup Golf Outing: April 18, postponed.
  • MSU Retirees Event: April 20, postponed.
  • 15th Annual Celebration of Student Scholarship, April 22, canceled.
  • MSU Spring Gala, April 25, postponed.
  • KCTM Semester Finale Concert, April 28, canceled.
  • Morehead State Symphonic Winds Concert, April 20, canceled.
  • Inscape Reception, April 30, canceled.
  • Morehead State Concert Band Concert, April 30, canceled.
  • Practice for Graduate Recognition Ceremony (April 30) and Graduate Recognition Ceremony (May 1), canceled.
  • Appalachian Horse Revival, schedule for May 21-23, has been postponed until Oct. 29-31.
  • All summer equestrian camps cancelled.
  • INSIGHT Camp, June 6-13, canceled.
  • MSU Summer Arts Academy, June 7-13, canceled.
  • MSU Alumni Travel Program Trip To Finger Lakes NY: June 15-19, canceled.
