MSU Delta Tau Delta Chapter receives Hugh Shields Award

Members of Delta Tau Delta FraternityThe Morehead State University’s Zeta Zeta Chapter of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity received the Hugh Shields Award for Academic Excellence at Delta Tau Delta’s Division Conference earlier this year.

The Hugh Shields Award for Chapter Excellence recognizes overall excellence in a chapter and is presented to the top 10 chapters in the fraternity. Chapters receive a gavel and a Hugh Shields flag. This is the third time MSU’s Zeta Zeta Chapter has received this honor.

The Zeta Zeta Chapter also received Southern Division Awards for both Academic Improvement and Member Education, as well as recognition for Above the Campus All-Male-Average/All-Fraternity Average and First on Campus Academically.

MSU’s Zeta Zeta Chapter of Delta Tau Delta was also recently graded as the top chapter in the country by the Fraternity Awards and Accreditation Report (FAAR), which assesses the quality of programming executed by chapters each year.

“Delta Tau Delta has been awarded the highest honor from their national office and, as of right now, they are the top chapter nationwide,” said Tanner Fisher, a sophomore from Bracken County and president of Delta Tau Delta at MSU. “This is not only a huge honor for them but a huge honor for our campus to have the top Delta Tau Delta Chapter in the nation on our campus.”
