Celebration of Student Scholarship highlights academic achievement online

Morehead State University made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Celebration of Student Scholarship that was scheduled for April 22 due to the COVID-19 situation. However, the hard work of MSU students will still be recognized online.

Abstracts for student poster or oral presentations will be published online in ScholarWorks @ Morehead State, a service of the Camden-Carroll Library. This documentation of their scholarly contribution, under Reports and Publications, will serve as a verifiable citation of their work for professional purposes.

The deadline for submission of research abstracts, initially scheduled for March 16, was extended to April 6 to allow more students to participate. Dr. Michael Henson, associate provost for research and dean of the Graduate School, said there were 163 student submissions. These submissions will be published on ScholarWorks next month.

“Although we are disappointed that the COVID-19 crisis has necessitated the cancellation of an in-person 2020 Celebration, we look forward to working with our colleagues in the Camden-Carroll Library to ensure an online repository for our students’ valued work in ScholarWorks,” Henson said.
