Hail named to board of Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation
Dr. Michael Hail, professor of government and political science at Morehead State University, has been appointed by President Donald Trump to serve an additional term as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation.
Hail is the coordinator of government and political science programs in the Department of History, Philosophy, Global Studies and Legal Studies at MSU. He was also elected to serve as chairperson of the Somerset Independent Schools Board of Education in Kentucky and serves as director of the Statesmanship Center.
Hail received a bachelor’s degree from Centre College in Danville and earned a Ph.D. from the University of Delaware. He teaches courses on public administration, federalism and constitutional law, public management, state and local government, economic development, Western political philosophy, intelligence studies and American political thought. Hail focuses his research on federalism and intergovernmental management with specific interest in economic development policy, state and local government, American political thought and Western political philosophy.
The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation was created in honor of 33rd U.S. President Harry S. Truman and was established by Congress in 1975. The foundation serves Truman’s passion to support future generations of public servants.
