Office of Communications and Marketing wins digital marketing award
Morehead State’s Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM) won a gold award in the Eighth Annual Education and Digital Marketing Awards for the Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR) Online microsite.
Typically, SOAR is an in-person, on-campus event, but was converted to a virtual platform due to the COVID-19 pandemic. SOAR allows incoming first-year students to learn more about their academic fields of interest, take a campus tour, register for their first-semester classes and interact with current MSU students, faculty and staff.
“I’m proud of the quality of work the staff in Communications and Marketing consistently produces in representing Morehead State University. This award recognizes the strength of their work and only further validates the professionalism and creativity the staff brings to MSU. They take great pride in the University, and their work shows it,” said Dr. Jami Hornbuckle, assistant vice president for communications and marketing. “I feel lucky to work with them.”
“This award, and others like it, are important, not just for acknowledging the good work being done by MSU employees, but also as an indication of the excellence we seek to provide students in all that we do – in every experience.”
Creating the microsite was a collaborative effort between OCM, the Division of Student Life, and the Offices of Accounting and Financial Services, Dining Services, EagleCard, Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, First-Year Programs, Housing, Information Technology, Retention and Advising, and the University Store.
The Education Digital Marketing Awards recognizes the best educational websites, digital content, electronic communications, mobile media and social media.
