MSU accounting program ranked among top 5 in the nation
Morehead State University's Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting program has been named one of the Top 50 Accounting Degree Programs in 2021 by Intelligent.com.
Intelligent.com, a resource for online degree rankings and higher education planning, ranked MSU at No. 5, noting that it was best for returning students. Programs are evaluated based on flexibility, course strength, faculty, reputation and cost.
"I am happy to be teaching accounting in a student-focused program," said Dr. Stephen Brigham, assistant professor of accounting. "Keeping the costs of education low not only benefits students but also benefits MSU's program in such rankings."
Morehead State's Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting prepares students for a career as an accountant in a wide range of career fields, including tax, auditing, controllership and more. The program offers courses in taxation, governmental, auditing, accounting information systems and more. There is also an online completer option for students pursuing degrees in accounting. Upper-level courses are offered online for students who have already completed the pre-business core requirements. The online option allows students to finish the last two years of classes online.
"We are honored to have our accounting program recognized in this way by Intelligent.com. Our students benefit from small class sizes, the opportunity to learn from faculty skilled in both online and face-to-face instruction, and from learning from the professional and academic experience that our professors bring to their classes," said Dr. Johnathan Nelson, associate professor of management and dean of the Elmer R. Smith College of Business and Technology. "We are proud to deliver a strong program that students can complete in both face-to-face and online formats depending upon their unique needs."
