MSU at Prestonsburg hosts Social Work Open House event
Morehead State University is hosting an open house for prospective students to learn about the social work program at the MSU at Prestonsburg regional campus. The MSU Prestonsburg Social Work Open House takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 23 at MSU at Prestonsburg, Room 131 at 6 Bert Combs Drive in Prestonsburg.
Social work program representatives, graduates and admissions specialists will be available at the event to answer any questions. Deirdra Robinson, the social work program facilitator at MSU at Prestonsburg, said a degree in social work from MSU affords various opportunities to help people in many ways.
“Obtaining a social work degree is a great decision,” she said. “Our profession works with individuals, families, groups and communities to maximize their potential and improve their lives. You can find social workers in schools, nursing homes, drug treatment programs, employee assistance programs and even in politics.”
Only 30 slots are available in MSU’s Bachelor of Social Work program.
