MSU education instructor Dr. Sabrina Little selected as Emerging Education Policy Scholar
Morehead State instructor of education, Dr. Sabrina Little, was selected for the 2021-22 Emerging Education Policy (EEP) Scholars class. She teaches in the Department of Foundational and Graduate Studies in Education.
“The Volgenau College of Education congratulates Dr. Sabrina Little for recognition as an Emerging Education Policy Scholar. She is a bright, engaging, thoughtful scholar and we are proud of her accomplishments,” said Dr. Tim Simpson, professor and chair of the Department of Foundational and Graduate Studies in Education (FGSE) at Morehead State University. “She will represent Morehead State and the Volgenau College with distinction. She is putting the foundations of the education programs of Morehead State on the national stage.”
Created by The Thomas B. Fordham Institute and the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), the Emerging Education Policy Scholars program brings together the latest Ph.D. scholars and Ph.D. candidates in Washington, D.C. to discuss new education policy and research ideas.
Little’s latest research has been in classical pedagogy, virtue acquisition and philosophy of education. She said she loves thinking about education research while “refining the ways I teach my own courses.”
“Being an EEP scholar will permit me to engage with like-minded peers who take seriously the task of education, and I am excited to interact with education policy-makers in Washington, D.C.,” she said. “In my work as an academic, it is – and has always been – a priority for me to make a practical difference and to connect my work with life outside of the academy in a serious way. This is a great opportunity to do that.”
