Board of Regents, Audit Committee to meet March 31

Morehead State University's Board of Regents will hold its quarterly meeting Thursday, March 31, at 9:30 a.m. in room 329 of the Adron Doran University Center, following a meeting of the Audit Committee at 9:15 a.m.  

The audit committee will accept the 2020-21 NCAA Agreed Upon Procedures Report and the WMKY audit. The committee will also vote to approve the reappointment of the University's auditing firm and the audit price and the scope of the annual fiscal year audit. The committee will also hear a report on the status of current audits from Internal Auditor Joe Hunsucker.  

Following the audit committee, the Board of Regents will meet and recognize donors, faculty, staff and students.

The board will review:
  • Approval of items approved by the Audit Committee.  
  • Ratification of personnel actions.  
  • Approval of a coaching contract.  
  • Acceptance of a policy revision.  
  • Approval of faculty tenure with promotion.  
  • Approval of the MSU Founder's Award honoree.  
  • The establishment of an ad-hoc committee to review the Board Bylaws.   

The board will also vote on several recommended actions, including:  
  • Approval of 2022-23 tuition, mandatory fees and housing rates.  
  • Acceptance of the second quarter financial report and ratification of the amended operating budget.  
  • Approval of employee compensation.
  • Approval of an extension of the University's banking services contract with US Bank.   
  • Approval of delegation of the University's optional retirement plan.  
  • Approval of the demolition of a residential structure.  

The board will also hear from University President Dr. Jay Morgan, who will deliver a legislative update and a report on the University's 100/135-year celebration. The board will also hear a presentation on University debt refinancing from Vice President for Fiscal Services Mary Fister-Tucker and a report on the University website redesign project from Vice President for University Advancement Rick Hesterberg.   

The board will also elect a chair, vice-chair and secretary and appoint a treasurer at Thursday's meeting. Meeting dates for the coming fiscal year will also be set.  

The next quarterly Board of Regents meeting is Thursday, June 16.
