History professor discusses Ukraine-Russia conflict

Dr. Adrian MandzyDr. Adrian Mandzy, associate professor of history at Morehead State, will give a talk titled “Putin’s War on Ukraine: A Historian's Perspective,” Friday, March 4, at 2 p.m. in Rader Hall, room 112.

Mandzy is a member of the I. Krypiakevych Institute of Ukrainian Studies and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and an expert in Ukrainian history. He will talk about the nation's history and the tensions that brought about the current conflict with Russia. Mandzy said he hopes the talk gives listeners an alternative perspective on the conflict.

“I am trying to help our students, faculty, staff, as well as members of the local community, understand what is going on from the Ukrainian point of view, as opposed to the European or U.S. policy viewpoint,” Mandzy said.

The event is free and open to the public. MSU requires masks in classrooms on campus. Those who cannot attend the event in person may view it online at https://moreheadstate.webex.com/meet/gjdavis.
