Inscape reception set for April 21
A reception to celebrate the publication of “Inscape,” Morehead State’s annual literary and visual arts journal, is scheduled for Thursday, April 21, at 6:30 p.m. in room 111 of the Claypool-Young Art Building.
“Inscape” features the work of current MSU students in the areas of poetry, fiction, nonfiction and visual arts. The works of 33 students are featured in this year’s edition. The reception will include readings of select works from “Inscape” contributors, the announcement of the cover art, interior art and literary award winners, and this year’s edition will be officially unveiled to the public. Refreshments will also be served. This year marks the 65th annual publication of the journal. Lisa Mesa-Gaido, professor of art at MSU and “Inscape” faculty advisor, said all who attend the reception will receive a hard copy of the journal. It will also be available online after the reception at https://scholarworks.moreheadstate.edu/inscape_magazine_archive.
“Inscape” is a literary and visual arts journal produced by Morehead State University students. Through a joint effort between the Department of English and the Department of Art and Design, “Inscape” provides students with additional opportunities to publish their work, build their portfolio or resume, and expand their experience and knowledge of the submission, editing and publication process. This year’s edition was also made possible with support from the MSU Student Government Association and an MSU instructional mini-grant.
