Olivia Webb to represent MSU at Mountain Laurel Festival
Olivia Webb, a senior from Pineville, will represent Morehead State University at the 2022 Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival.
The daughter of Kellie Jones and Ledford Webb, she is pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing with a minor in photography. Webb is an active member of Delta Zeta Sorority.
"I am beyond honored to be chosen as the Morehead State University representative for this legendary tradition," Webb said. "I have dreamed of participating in this event since I performed during the Queen Coronation with my ballet class as a little girl."
The Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival began in 1931. The annual festival invites each university in the Commonwealth to send a representative. The tradition of crowning the Mountain Laurel Queen takes place on Saturday, May 28, at Pine Mountain State Resort Park.
In 2003, Jamie Nicole Blair (Class of 2003, 2004) of Oil Springs won the crown, representing MSU. Other MSU winners included Sharon Lue Goldsberry (Class of 1977) in 1975 and Kelly Michele Holdren (Class of 1982, 1984) in 1982.
