Board of Regents holds June meeting

Morehead State's Board of Regents held its quarterly meeting Thursday, June 16, at 9:30 a.m. in room 329 of the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC).  

Following breakfast and the call to order, the regents recognized Raymond McLain, the retiring director of the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music, for his years of service to the University. Members of the board also honored outgoing Student Regent and Student Government Association President Emily Wiley (Class of 2022) with a resolution recognizing her service to the board and MSU. The board also recognized Megan Boone, director of Career Services and the Center for Career Development and Experiential Education, for her contributions to the University.

Under the consent agenda, the regents voted to:   
  • Ratify spring 2022 graduates.  
  • Ratify personnel actions, including approval of the 2022-23 University organizational chart, promotion of faculty, granting of emeritus status, new academic program certificates, and employment contracts.

In addition, the board voted to:    
  • Accepted the third-quarter financial report and ratified the amended operating budget.  
  • Approve the 2022-23 University operating budget, fee schedule, personnel roster and capital projects including renovation of Cooper Hall, Alumni Tower, Camden-Carroll Library HVAC/electrical system and recommended amendments to the Board of Regents' bylaws.

The regents heard a report from Vice President of Fiscal Services Mary Fister-Tucker, an update on the Student Government Association and a report from University President Dr. Jay Morgan. They also conducted the president's annual evaluation and reviewed a summary of the board's self-evaluation.
