Board of Regents meets Aug. 4

The Morehead State University Board of Regents will hold its quarterly meeting on Thursday, Aug. 4, at 9:30 a.m. in room 329 of the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC).  

Prior to the meeting, the board will meet to renew their confidentiality agreements and other annual paperwork. Following the meeting, a campus tour and orientation will be held for new regents Student Government Association President Chloe Marstiller, Laura Russell and returning regent Craig Preece beginning at 12:30 p.m.

During the meeting, Marstiller, Russell and Preece will be administered the oath of office by Circuit Court Judge David Barber. The regents will also elect a chair, vice chair and secretary and will appoint a treasurer at the meeting.  

The board will hear a report on university initiatives and recommendations for board action from MSU President, Dr. Jay Morgan, and will vote to approve state-funded asset preservation projects across campus. The regents will also hear a presentation about the 2023 employee health plan.  

The regents will also enter an executive session to discuss the possible disposition of property and potential litigation involving the University. No action will be taken during or following the executive session on the matters discussed therein.  

The board will also sign a resolution of appreciation for outgoing Regent Terri Walters.
