Laura Russell appointed as new regent of MSU Board of Regents
Governor Andy Beshear has appointed Laura Prater Russell (Class of 1998) as the newest member of the Morehead State University Board of Regents.
Currently residing in Louisville, Russell serves as an attorney and partner at Eddins-Domine Law Group, PLLC, where she focuses her practice primarily on all aspects of family law, real estate and estate planning. She graduated magna cum laude from MSU with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1998 and later earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville. A native of Eastern Kentucky, she is a third generation Eagle, as both her parents and grandmother graduated from MSU.
Prior to joining Eddins-Domine Law Group, Russell served as an associate at Frost Brown Todd, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and as an assistant Jefferson County attorney. She is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Louisville Bar Association, a former board member of the Jefferson County Women Lawyer’s Association and the former president of the Younger Woman’s Club of Louisville. She is married to her high school sweetheart and is the mother of a teenage daughter.
MSU’s 11-member governing board includes eight citizens appointed by the governor and three elected representatives of the faculty, staff and students. Her term ends in 2028.
