Students shine at Collegiate FBLA competition
Morehead State’s Collegiate Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) team won several categories in the state leadership Collegiate FBLA competition held this spring at Georgetown College.
MSU was represented by nine students who competed in 15 individual events and one team event. The students placed in 14 events, with 11 first-place awards.
“It is extremely rewarding to see our FBLA Collegiate students excel in their state leadership competition. They are all very dedicated and have worked hard to be successful against a field of strong competitors,” said Dr. Sam Stapleton, instructor of management and FBLA advisor.
Winners and their respective awards were:
- Brendan Bush, junior information systems major from Grayson, third place in management concepts.
- Jackson Collins, senior information systems major from Pikeville, first place in information management.
- Abigail Cooper, senior accounting major from Vanceburg, first place in management analysis and decision-making and third place in organizational behavior.
- Jared Hatton (Class of 2023) from Mt. Sterling, first place job interview and first place future business executive.
- Anna Heineman, senior healthcare management major from Greenup, first place in networking concepts.
- Mann Patel, senior computer science major from Somerset, first place in cyber security and first place in computer concepts.
- John Reichenbach, senior computer science major from Union, first place in programming concepts and second place in computer concepts.
- Gabriel Trudeau, senior accounting major from Ft. Wright, first place in microeconomics and first place in project management.
- Bush, Heineman and John Maxey, junior marketing major from Hillsboro, first place in the Business Decision-Making team competition.
