Ahmad Zargari named dean of the College of Science
Dr. Ahmad Zargari has been named the new dean of Morehead State’s College of Science.
Zargari began his career at MSU in 1994. Previously, he was chair of the Department of Engineering and Technology Management (formerly the Applied Engineering & Technology Department) from 1994 to 2015. He also served as the School of Engineering & Computer Science associate dean from 2015 to 2023.
In 2022, Zargari received the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) Charles W. Keith Award. He was awarded the ATMAE Senior Fellowship at the 2019 Annual Conference and is a lifetime member of the association. Zargari earned the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Kentucky Association of Colleges and Employers in 2018.
“I am honored and excited to return to the College of Science as dean and have the opportunity to join and collaborate with the team of STEM faculty and staff to assure our students’ academic and career success,” Zargari said.
“It is my hope the college will develop a strategic plan to modify the existing programs and develop new program opportunities in order to meet the demand of contemporary and future workforce for advanced scientific, engineering, and technological skills. I am enthusiastically looking forward to ensuring that the science, engineering, and technology programs remain on the cutting edge of the STEM profession.”
