Morehead State hosts Academic Leadership Academy
Morehead State University hosted the Bluegrass Higher Education Consortium Academic Leadership Academy (ALA) on Friday, Oct. 20.
The ALA presents leadership career paths for younger faculty and staff and provides guidance in developing skills for effective institutional leadership. The academy’s objectives include leadership theories, styles, concepts, and challenges while preparing faculty and staff to lead effectively in higher education.
After a morning keynote speech and Q&A session with MSU President Dr. Jay Morgan, the event proceeded to have roundtable discussions on the following topics:
- Accreditation
- Admissions & Recruiting
- Departmental Budgets & Finance
- Chair/Dean Development
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Mental Health
The event was organized by Bluegrass Tomorrow and the Kentucky Council of Postsecondary Education.
