Activities planned for MLK Day
Morehead State University will host several events Monday, Jan. 15, to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Events planned to commemorate King include:

Mt. Sterling/Montgomery County MLK, Jr. luncheon. The event will be held at the Clay Community Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The guest speaker is Dr. Vaughn Little, an administrator in the Jefferson County Public School system. A bus will leave from the Howell-McDowell Administration Building on MSU’s main campus at 10:15 a.m. to transport those who would like to attend. The King holiday is a National Day of Service. Several volunteer opportunities in the Rowan County area are planned for 2-4 p.m. For more information, contact Atkins by Jan. 9 at c.atkins@moreheadstate.edu.

A movie screening and discussion of the animated film “Our Friend Martin” is planned for 6 p.m. in the ADUC theater. Weather permitting, a campus march will occur immediately following. Please RSVP by Jan. 9 to Myiah Clemons, diversity and inclusion coordinator and manager of the Eagle Diversity Education Center, at mclemons2@moreheadstate.edu.
MSU will be closed for the holiday. Administrative offices will be closed, and classes will not meet.
The University Store and the Camden-Carroll Library will also be closed.
The University Post Office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Recreation and Wellness Center will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
