Morehead State University's Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR) sessions provide incoming students with information and preparation for their first year of college.
MSU offers SOAR sessions for new students, transfer students, Eagle Scholars (dual-credit), and George M. Luckey Jr. Academic Honors Program students. MSU offers SOAR in both in-person and virtual formats.
“Our new Eagles will meet with advisors who will help them complete their academic schedule and get them on the most efficient path to degree completion. All questions can be answered regarding housing, dining, parking, disability services, financial aid and scholarships. You can meet with your department faculty and get a feel for the academic buildings on campus and fellow student Eagles orientation leaders will meet with you to answer any questions you might have,” said Melisa Patrick, director of SOAR and yield events. “Our ultimate goal is to have you leave SOAR with confidence and excitement for a positive, stress-free first semester.”
These sessions are for students who will begin classes in August 2024. Choose a date below and register online.

Virtual (New & Transfer Students)
In-person sessions are from 9 a.m. to noon in the Adron Doran University Center.
Virtual sessions include:
- Watching videos and text content on your own during the week.
- Scheduled session with your academic advisor.
- Live web session on Friday.
