Events planned for Women's History Month
Several events are planned at Morehead State to commemorate Women's History Month in March.
The gender studies program will host two presentations about women's issues in March:
Megan Rookard and Morgan Ferguson with Pathways will moderate a discussion about sexual assault Tuesday, March 19, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC) Theater.
Professor Barbara G. Brents from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will present a lecture, "The State of Sex: Nevada's Legal Brothels, and the Political Economy of Sex," on Tuesday, March 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the ADUC Theater.
"Gender Studies is excited to bring both local and national experts on gender issues to campus for Women's History Month," said Dr. Bernadette Barton, professor of sociology and gender studies.
Other events in March:
- A ladies' lunch will be held at noon Friday, March 8, in the Heritage Room in ADUC.
- There will be a screening of the film "Selena" on Monday, March 18, at 6 p.m. in room 301 of ADUC.
- There will be a vision board activity on Monday, March 25, at 5 p.m. in room 302 of ADUC.
