Morehead State partners with SOAR Innovation Team for campus event
Morehead State continues to do its part to positively impact the community and surrounding region. After receiving an Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Power Grant in October 2023, MSU is partnering with the Shaping Our Appalachian Region (SOAR) Innovation Team to host an upcoming event.
MSU will host the “Pizza and a Pitch: Where Innovation Meets Opportunity” event at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in Room 326 at the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC). The event offers a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to present business ideas or existing projects. In addition to an opportunity to practice business pitches and networking, there will also be free pizza and the chance to win cash prizes for the best pitch ideas.
Morehead State’s collaboration with SOAR is part of a larger initiative to foster a Technology-Focused Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Eastern Kentucky. In addition to MSU, SOAR also partnered with other educational institutions to encourage entrepreneurship in Eastern Kentucky, including:
- Ashland Community and Technical College
- Hazard Community and Technical College
- Paintsville Independent School District
- Union Commonwealth University
- University of Pikeville
