Spring Gala fundraiser sets attendance record, raises money for student success

Morehead State University faculty, staff, students, friends and community partners gathered for a record-breaking night at the “Casino Royale” Spring Gala on Saturday, April 27, at the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC).

The 31st Gala hosted a record number of guests with a sell-out crowd of more than 400 attendees and raised $70,000 through 30 corporate sponsorships and over 100 individual sponsorships.

“The response to this year’s Gala truly blew us away,” said Allison Caudill (Class of 2005, 2009), executive director of alumni relations and development. “For the first time ever, we had to announce that the Gala was sold out. This event is so meaningful and impactful, as it gives us the chance to showcase the talents of our students, but also raise significant dollars for student scholarships.”

The event treated guests to various food and drink and a silent auction that raised a record-setting amount of nearly $22,000. Following a multi-course dinner prepared by Aramark, guests attended a performance by students, faculty, staff and alumni from the Department of Music, Theatre & Dance and the MSU Dance Team. The night ended with a dessert and dancing reception.

“It was truly an amazing evening, and we are so grateful for the support we received,” continued Mikayla Ray (Class of 2021), alumni relations and development events coordinator. “We hope everyone will go ahead and save the date for 2025 – Saturday, April 26!”
