Morehead State Board of Regents holds quarterly meeting

The Morehead State University Board of Regents met Friday, Aug. 9, for the regular quarterly meeting.

The board recognized faculty and staff for their service to the University.

Honorees were:

  • Professor of Biology & Chemistry Dr. Craig Tuerk
  • Credential Processing Center Director Cathy Vance

The board welcomed the new Student Regent, Brady Lawson.

Lawson is a senior political science major. He is president of the Student Government Association. Lawson has experience as an undergraduate research fellow and is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society.

The board heard updates on financial aid, honoring and fundraising for buildings, MSU’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), and a presentation on Name, Image, Likeness (NIL) for athletes and 2025 employee health care and personal service contracts.

The board also voted on recommendations to approve asset preservation projects for the following:

  • Campus Communications Infrastructure Plan
  • Breckinridge Hall, Eagle Lake Apartments, Fields Hall, and Normal Hall
  • Wetherby Gymnasium/Laughlin Health Building Site Draining Mitigation
  • Veterinary Technology Building
