Staton honored for work in vet tech education
The Association of Veterinary Technician Educators (AVTE) is recognizing an MSU faculty member for their work in the field.
Amy Staton (Class of 2003, 2004, and 2013), associate professor of veterinary technology, is part of the inaugural class of the AVTE Fellows Program. This group comprises exceptional veterinary technician educators who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership, innovation, and mentorship contributions. AVTE officially inducted the inaugural class of Fellows at the 2024 Annual Conference in Houston, Texas,
AVTE's goal in this effort is to elevate the voice and stature of veterinary technician educators. Fellows will enjoy exclusive benefits, including using the FVTE designation, participating in unique programming, and supporting collective initiatives that strengthen veterinary technician education.
"It is an honor to be part of the inaugural cohort," Staton said. "I firmly believe that learning is a lifelong process in which we must embrace to provide the best education possible to our students. Students are the heart of what I do, and anything I can do to help them succeed is worthwhile."
