MSU faculty’s voice studio triumphs: multiple statewide wins

Two Morehead State University students have been participating in Professor of Music & Voice Roma Prindle’s voice studio.

Lexington sophomore Ashley Vela and Cynthiana junior Alura Schaum excelled at two state auditions in October.

Vela competed in both, winning the Classical Singer and Music Theater categories at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Auditions at Asbury University.

She won the Young Artist Classical category at the Kentucky Music Teachers Association’s Bluegrass Young Artists Audition (BYAA) at Transylvania University.

Schaum competed in the BYAA and won the Young Artist Music Theater category.

Both students received honorable mentions in separate categories at the BYAA: Vela in Music Theater and Schaum in Classical Singer.
