Kentucky Folk Art Center hosts second annual art competition
The Kentucky Folk Art Center (KFAC) will once again feature the Kentucky International Youth Art Competition (KIYAC).
This is the third consecutive year the center has participated in the event.
This year’s showcase is titled “Nature & People,” and will feature art from China, Italy, and selected Kentucky middle and high school students.
“We believe the event will deepen young people's understanding and appreciation of Kentucky Folk Art,” Administrative Coordinator Tammy Stone said. “Knowing the world through art and connecting with each other through art encapsulates the significance of the Kentucky International Youth Art Competition.”
The opening reception for the KIYAC will be held Nov. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. The center’s exhibit will be open to the public until Jan. 13, 2025.
