Morehead State University Launches 'Always an Eagle' Podcast

Morehead State University’s Alumni Association announces the launch of a new podcast series, “Always an Eagle,” celebrating the unique stories of Morehead State’s alumni and their lifelong connection to MSU. Hosted by Rick Hesterberg (Class of 1980), vice president for university advancement and a proud MSU alumnus, this series takes listeners on a journey through the personal and professional lives of Eagles around the world who have carried their blue and gold spirit into careers, communities, and achievements across all fields.

Premiering in January, “Always an Eagle” will bring the energy, pride, and community of Morehead State straight to listeners’ ears every two weeks. Each episode will feature conversations with alumni who have made their mark in remarkable ways, along with other memorable figures who helped shape the University’s legacy.

“Always An Eagle” isn’t just a podcast—it’s an open door to MSU’s past, present and future, told directly by those who have lived it.

“We have over 74,000 alumni, and each one has a unique story worth hearing. Through ‘Always an Eagle,’ we want to bring those voices to the forefront and celebrate the lasting connections they have with MSU,” Hesterberg said. “Thanks to the support from the Rajant Corporation and Barnes & Noble, we’re thrilled to deliver a true Blue and Gold experience right to our listeners.”

The podcast will capture the spirit of MSU, from its roots in 1887—a "light to the mountains"—to its current standing as a beacon of opportunity, growth and impact for students and alumni alike. Every episode promises a blend of inspiration, insight, and the occasional laugh, spotlighting how MSU has played a transformative role in countless lives.
