Kentucky Blood Center Hosts Blood Drive at MSU

The Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) will host a Spring Blood Drive on Monday, Feb. 3, and Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC).

As a token of appreciation, all donors will receive a $5 Starbucks gift card and a KBC long-sleeve shirt.

Winter weather and seasonal illnesses have significantly affected KBC's blood supply in 2025.

Blood donations are essential for trauma patients, individuals battling cancer, and many others in need of critical care. KBC depends on the generosity of volunteer donors throughout Kentucky to ensure a steady blood supply for these patients.

The donation process is simple and efficient, taking just 45 minutes total. The actual blood collection process lasts only 8-12 minutes.

Donor Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent). 
• Must weigh at least 110 pounds. 
• Must be in general good health. 
• Must present photo identification. 
• Additional requirements may apply. 

Sixteen-year-old donors must bring a signed parental permission slip, which can be downloaded from the KBC website.
