MSU receives grant to host OB Sonography Conference
Morehead State University has been awarded a grant from the Association of Educators in Imaging and Radiologic Sciences (AEIRS) to host an Obstetrics (OB) Sonography Conference on Friday, March 28, 2025.
MSU’s Department of Health, Kinesiology, Imaging & Psychological Sciences will host the event in the Center for Health, Education and Research on Second Street.
Assistant Professor of Imaging Sciences and Program Director Jennifer Clark (Class of 2013, 2014) says the conference is an incredible student opportunity.
“This sonography conference is free for any sonographer wishing to increase their knowledge of obstetric sonography and fetal echocardiography scanning skills,” Clark said. “The sonographers attending will earn 6 continuing education credits. Maternal-fetal medicine physicians and fetal echocardiography specialists will be speaking at the conference.”
Clark adds this conference is only the beginning for their department.
“The faculty continue to search for grant opportunities with CPE and other organizations. The department has equipment ... needs for student educational experiences,” Clark said. “We are in hopes that CPE and others will continue to offer grant opportunities for endeavors to enhance our programs.”
Clark, Megan Meade with Viable Solutions, and Norton MFM Physician Dr. Jamil Elfarra will be the speakers at the event.
A free lunch will also be provided during the conference.
