Morehead State to Screen Student Academy Awards
The Department of Communication, Media, Art & Design at Morehead State University will host a special screening of the Student Academy Awards on Tuesday, Feb. 26, in Breckinridge Hall 002. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the films begin at 6:30 p.m.
The Student Academy Awards, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, is a prestigious international film competition recognizing the most promising student filmmakers worldwide.
More than 1,700 college and university students submit their work in animation, documentary, narrative, and alternative categories each year. Winners receive awards and cash grants, and past recipients include acclaimed filmmakers Spike Lee, Trey Parker, Bob Saget, Cary Fukunaga, Patricia Riggen, John Lasseter and Robert Zemeckis.
This screening offers students and film enthusiasts a unique opportunity to experience award-winning films from emerging talents. The event is free and open to the public.
