Plan for success after college at the Career and Internship Fair
Morehead State University is committed to helping our students find successful careers.
The Spring Career & Internship Fair occurs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC) ballrooms. MSU students and alumni from all majors are encouraged to attend.
At MSU's Career & Internship Fair, you can connect with regional, state and out-of-state employers and graduate programs while learning about full-time and part-time jobs, internships, co-ops, and graduate schools.
"The career fair is the signature event that connects employers and graduate programs with students who are looking to land internships and co-ops as well as full-time jobs," said Megan Boone, director of MSU's Center for Career Development & Experiential Education (CCDEE).
First- and second-year students can also benefit from attending. Nazari Jackson, a senior majoring in criminology, has regularly attended the fair since her first year at MSU.
“As a student-athlete, finding the time to network with potential employers can be very difficult. The Career & Internship fair is a great opportunity that allows me to easily connect with several recruiters in one room,” Jackson said. “I truly appreciate having the ability to talk to employers one-on-one and learn about all the different career paths available to me."
Students should prepare to make the most of their time at the Career & Internship Fair. This includes:
- Dressing professionally
- Bringing copies of your resume
- Planning a proper introduction
- Researching companies and schools in attendance
One of the most significant benefits of the Career & Internship Fair is the ability to expand your professional network. Attendees can download the free Symplicity Jobs and Careers app on Google Play and Apple Store and find out who they can meet at the fair.
"There are many advantages to attending the fair, from making your name known to employers and graduate schools in your field to getting comfortable interacting in a professional setting," Boone said.
Students who attend the Career & Internship Fair also can receive a free professional headshot that they can use on their LinkedIn page and other social media accounts.
"We want to ensure MSU students have the resources necessary to build a professional presence online and in person," Boone said.
Potential employee recruiters can now register for the Career & Internship Fair.
MSU's Center for Career Development & Experiential Education helps students access numerous resources geared toward their success. The CCDEE offers opportunities to gain real-world experiences through education abroad, undergraduate research, service learning, internships, and work-study positions.
