MSPR announces the recipients of two student awards
Morehead State Public Radio is pleased to announce the recipients of two student awards.
Sydney Graham (senior, media production & journalism area major/social media minor, Morehead) is the recipient of the 2025 MSPR Outstanding Student Award, and Hallie Adams (senior, media production & journalism area major/photography minor/social media minor, Flemingsburg) is the recipient of the 2025 Community Advisory Board Student Leadership Award.
The Outstanding Student Award and the CAB Student Leadership Award are presented annually to an intern, work-study, or volunteer student who worked at MSPR during the past year.
The Outstanding Student Award is selected by MSPR staff based on leadership, dependability, initiative, and personal development while performing quality work and an overall commitment to MSPR. The Student Leadership Award is selected by MSPR’s Community Advisory Board based on personal achievements, leadership, volunteerism, campus, and/or community involvement.
“I congratulate Hallie Adams and Sydney Graham on their success and achievements, contributions to the community, and dedication to the mission of Morehead State Public Radio,” said Paul Hitchcock, MSPR general manager.
MSPR relies on student work-studies, interns, and volunteers to perform a variety of important roles including news gathering, interviewing, and reporting, audio editing, engineering, and production.
“MSPR offers a wide variety of opportunities in an educational, professional, and supportive environment. We value the work by our student staff and their commitment to our listeners,” Hitchcock added.
Serving more than twenty counties throughout eastern Kentucky, southern Ohio, and western West Virginia, Morehead State Public Radio (WMKY) broadcasts from the campus of Morehead State University at 90.3FM, online, phone app, and smart speaker (“Play WMKY”).
