Probst earns OVC Outstanding Faculty Award

Manuel Probst HeadshotA Morehead State professor earned a top honor from the Ohio Valley Conference for his work in the classroom.

The OVC named Dr. Manuel Probst, associate professor and chair of the Department of Health, Kinesiology, Imaging & Psychological Sciences, one of its Outstanding Faculty Commitment to Student Success Award winners.

The Outstanding Faculty Commitment to Student Success Awards are given to a faculty member from each of OVC's 11 member institutions. Criteria include impacts on students, university and curriculum development, contributions to the department, consistent professional development, community involvement and institutional service.

Award recipients were announced at the 2025 OVC Basketball Championship in Evansville, Indiana.

"At Morehead State, we take great pride in the dedication of our faculty to student success, both in the classroom and beyond. Dr. Manuel Probst exemplifies this commitment through his unwavering support, innovation, and leadership," said Kelly Wells (Class of 1995), director of Athletics. "His impact on our students and university is immeasurable, and we are thrilled to see him recognized with this prestigious honor from the OVC."

Probst earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Transylvania University. He also earned a Master of Arts and an Ed.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University of Kentucky.

He holds the American College of Sports Medicine's Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist and Program Director certifications and the National Strength and Conditioning Association's Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification.

“I’m truly honored to receive this award,” Probst said. “I like working with students. They always come first for me. I just want to prepare students as best I can to prepare them for a career related to their major.”
