MSU mourns the death of Dr. Nathan Coker
Morehead State University mourns the loss of Dr. Nathan Coker, associate professor of biology & chemistry, who passed away on March 31, at age 66.
Coker was born in Bowling Green and grew up in Mitchellville, Tennessee. He worked as an electrician before returning to school. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Western Kentucky University in 1997 and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati in 2003.
After completing a postdoctoral program, Morehead State University hired Coker as a tenure-track professor. He met his wife, Elizabeth, at MSU in 2009.
Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 7, at the Taul Funeral Home, 109 E. Main Street in Mt. Sterling, with a service to follow at 4 p.m. View obituary.
