Morehead State Board of Regents to meet June 12

The Morehead State University Board of Regents will meet on Friday, June 12, 2026, in Room 329 of the Adron Doran University Center. The board will consider personnel, academic and facilities-related actions and receive updates from University leadership.

The meeting will begin with recognition of students, faculty and staff before moving into the president's recommendations and reports.

As part of the consent agenda, the board plans to approve several routine and institutional items, including:

  • Minutes from the March 27, 2026, meeting
  • Personnel actions and promotion to professor and emeritus status recommendations
  • Coaching contract extensions
  • College mission statements and the University organizational chart
  • Disposal of building signage and plaques
  • Authorization of the Kentucky Division of Water to conduct remediation work at Eagle Lake

The board will also receive a report from MSU President Dr. Jay Morgan on matters affecting the University.

Additionally, the board will hear recommendations on:

  • Approval of financials and amended operating budget, fee schedule and personnel roster
  • Approval of asset preservation projects and Space Science Center HVAC
  • Authorization to begin construction on a third new residence hall
  • Approval to dispose of Lloyd-Cassity Building and Cartmell Hall
  • Authorization of bond refunding issuance

Board Chair Dr. Sanford Holbrook (Class of 1997, 2003, 2006, 2025) will recognize outgoing regents Chris McClurg (Class of 1997, 2001) and Thomas Clem (Class of 2025). Nursing students Cassandra Parker, Maci Woods and Winston Williams will be recognized, and the board will honor retiring dean of the College of Science & Engineering Dr. Ahmad “AZ” Zargari.

The next scheduled meeting of the Board of Regents is Friday, Aug. 7, 2026.
