Morehead State Fall Career & Internship Fair is Sept. 30

Morehead State University prioritizes preparing students for life after college and helping them gain a professional advantage through its Career & Internship Fair.

The Fall Career & Internship Fair is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the Adron Doran University Center (ADUC) ballrooms. MSU students and alumni from all majors are encouraged to attend.

"The Career & Internship Fair gives our students the opportunity to connect directly with employers and graduate programs that recognize the value of a Morehead State University education,” said Megan Boone, director of MSU’s Center for Career Development & Experiential Education (CCDEE).

“Our students are developing more than knowledge in their majors. Through hands-on experiences like internships, research and education abroad, they are building the communication, critical thinking, teamwork and professionalism skills employers need. Our goal is to help students recognize that they have developed those skills and articulate them when speaking with recruiters at the event.”

At MSU's Career & Internship Fair, students can connect with regional, state, and out-of-state employers and graduate programs while learning about full-time and part-time jobs, internships, co-ops, and graduate schools. Students who attend the Career & Internship Fair can also receive a free professional headshot that they can use on their LinkedIn page and other professional accounts.

“The Career & Internship Fair isn’t just about finding a job—it’s about discovering what’s possible. It’s an opportunity for every student, not just seniors, to explore different career paths, meet employers, ask questions, and start making connections,” said Gabria W. Sexton (Class of 2022), CCDEE career development coordinator.

“You might find an internship or job-shadowing opportunity, or you might simply have a conversation that helps you see a career in a different way. Networking and exploring opportunities are part of your career journey, so come curious, start a conversation, and see where it takes you.”

First- and second-year students can also benefit from attending. Alexandra Johnson, a sophomore physics major from Flemingsburg, said, "I attended the Career & Internship Fair as a first-year student and enjoyed learning more about the various industries that might use skills related to my major. I had good conversations and feel more confident now."

Students should prepare to make the most of their time at the Career & Internship Fair:

  • Dress professionally.
  • Bring copies of your resume.
  • Plan a proper introduction.
  • Research companies and schools that will attend.
